This week we had the incredible opportunity to have some guests from Incendiary Blue come in to hear our pitches for our UI/UX concepts within our game. The week prior to this I had been working to create all of the high fidelity wireframes needed for the presentation.
During this time the whole team was working incredibly well together to get the presentation ready as this was the first big presentation we had to show off our work as a team we wanted to make it count.
Feedback Overview:
Overall the feedback we received was extremely helpful however there wasn't a lot of specific feedback apart from in one area, the magic system, We received a lot of feedback on the wireframes themselves and I was really pleased that the feedback that I received on them was extremely positive which was a huge relief for myself as I was so worried up until that point that they might not have been up to standard to be in the presentation, Overall when it came to talking about specific design elements however there was some things to address, some good and some bad.
Feedback on the magic system:
The feedback we received on the magic system was slightly hit and miss, while they thought the concept was really cool and unique for VR however after disusing it back and forth with the team they believed it to be too finicky/ convoluted to be used within combat scenarios. However they told us to just try to rework the system to be more simplistic and easier to use within combat scenarios.
More Generalized Feedback:
When it came to talking about the other designs and systems we showed the feedback was much more generalised and sadly there wasn't as much detail given however they did give a general piece of feedback that the team took on board to make sure we did. We were given the advice to sit down as a team and take everything we have made so far and pull in the reigns and sit down figure out what is working well, what isn't and what we can improve upon before we start adding more systems into the game.
Overall this was a great experience getting to do this dragon's den style pitch and we were able to get a lot of useful information and I know the myself and the team are going to work incredibly hard to improve our title.
