Market Stall
At the start of the game the player will be in their village with some buildings and market stalls, the player can walk up to these market stalls and some of them will have been destroyed were others will be standing normally and undamaged. the screenshot is from Johns level showing some of the block out market stalls that he has made for the levels, in the background you can see my trees have also been placed into the level.
I started by looking at some references for medieval market stalls to try and give me an idea on what I should be trying to aim for when making my market stalls for John to put into the level. I gathered a few references the the type of stall I wanted to make taking parts from each example to help me with decided the final look for the model.
I started by making a basic frame of wood that would support a cloth above the stall and added some damage on the side parts of the stall to give it a more warn down and old look.
I also added some edge loons on the front a back brace to make it look like that its been bent from being used for a long time.
I added a table to the front of the stall with a small shelf for boxes to be stacked against. I added some damage to the table so that it fits with the style of the support beams. To add to old and roughly made stall I added some small wooden planks on the sides that have been nailed in to help keep the structure but some has fallen down.
Finally I added a separate mesh which is the cloth along the top, I have made sure to keep these separate so that when I bring the model into UE4 I can make the cloth have a double sided texture so that its not see through on one side.
