Crystal Imbuing weapon with power
Towards the start of the project I had came up with the idea after seeing Luke's sword concept that you can place the crystals into the weapons and give them the powers of the crystals allowing the player to have more choices to how they would play the game. Sadly this did not make it into the final game because of time constraints and instead we focused on getting the core of the game.
Bow
I designed a concept for a bow and arrow that the player can imbue with the same sort of power as the sword with the crystals. But just like the sword the crystals and weapon system wasn't able to be added to the final product. The bow never got out of the concept phase as I had created the bow to give the player another type of weapon besides just a sword to use. This would have made the player have the choose what sort of weapon they would want to bring to the fight such as stay back and fight at range or close with a sword.
5 Elemental Crystals
I had created five elemental crystals that our team had talked about and each of these crystals would have a different attack such as wind, fire, ice and more but all of these were taken out of the final game to allow the player to focus on the fire and ice crystal because of time constraints we sadly could not add all of these different elements.
Sword in the Stone Easter Egg
A concept that I had created is that once the player had found all of the magical crystals they could come back to this sword lodged in a rock and pull it out, this sword was meant to be a strong weapon that the player can use to have fun. This would have been an end game item allowing the player to be really powerful and feel like they cant be stopped.
Old Rocks
The old rock models I had removed from the game replacing them with the new models that can be found through out the game, The old rocks just didn't suit the style we were going for in the game so I created some new rocks using Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter. The new rocks look much better compared to the old models.
Packed Version of the Game
When we tried to package the game we were unable to play the game for more than a few seconds before it would crash. After spending hours and had some promising progress to fixing the packaged version we were unable to package the final version of the game. I had tried decreasing texture sizes, removing certain assets from the game temporarily to see if they were affecting the performance.
The game can still be played in the editor and you will get the same experience as you would on the on the headset being able to do everything that the game has to offer.
Potion Bottles
I had created some potion bottle designs on Maya that we were going to use in the market area but instead we decided that we would push them back and if we had the time I would return to the bottles. I wanted to use these to help make the wizard tower and market area more lively by having stuff in the market that people were trying to sell before they were attacked.
