Sword

Using the concept that Luke had drawn up for me I started work on the sword as I decided to start my work at the blade of the sword and work my way down. I got a basic shape for the blade by using a cube and extruding it and merging to centre to get the blade. Once I had gotten the shape of my blade I duplicated the object and flipped it the opposite way so that I could get the second side of the blade since there are two blades on this sword.

I continued to move down the blade going into the area that I want a crystal to sit inside to give the sword special powers. I made the shape for the base of the blade moving down to the sword guard and adding the same details that were on the concept. I also added a rain guard to the end of the blade to help it look more like a real sword and something that could actually be used and still keeping the unique style of the weapon.

I added a gem onto imbedded into the sword guard that we plan to change the colour of to the same colour as the crystal that is slotted inside the space provided.

I finished of the blade by adding a hilt, some bands around the hilt and a cloth like material at the end to help break up the shape of the hilt. The finished sword has a space for the crystal that the placer will be able to place inside and has a cool unique design that will help the weapon stand out from any others that might appear in the game.

I wanted to keep as accurate to the concept art that Luke had given me as possible wanting to make sure that both our vision of this weapon was meet. Once finished I posted the sword in the discord chat to get everyone's opinion, giving them updates on the weapon such showing them the start, middle and end of the sword.
